El Taco was founded by Justine & Gilbert Langevin in Nelson BC summer of 2003. With the success of the Nelson business El Taco Mexican Food Corporation was created in August of 2006 consisting of 2 additional partners Jeannine Belanger and Dana Rothkop. The first corporate restaurant 'El Taco on Davie' opened on the 15 Aug 2006.
